PADI Scuba Diver Course

Short on time and long on the urge to become a certified diver? The PADI Scuba Diver certification might just be for you. This course requires less time than the PADI Open Water Diver course

What does this qualification mean to me?

The Scuba Diver course is one of the entry level PADI qualifications - once completed this course certifies you to dive worldwide under the direct supervision of a PADI Divemaster, Assistant Instructor or Instructor to a maximum depth of 12 meters. This certification is recognised at dive centres worldwide

What is involved?

1 Knowledge Development - (online E-Learning home study or in a classroom ) this gives you the basic principles and knowledge needed for safe and enjoyable diving. Covering only the first three of five sections of knowledge development,. These are studied in your own time using the PADI Open Water Diver Manual and the PADI Open Water Diver DVD. You then go over what you have learnt with an instructor to ensure that you understand it thoroughly. Once you’re a certified diver, use the course materials as a reference guide for future diving adventures.

In a hurry? Have a wacky schedule? You could also start at home by taking the course online. Click here for details on PADI Open Water Diver E-Learning which is the most convenient option to save time while on Holiday.

2. Confined Dives ((or pool-like environment)) in the pool you will have the first three of five pool sessions you will then learn the scuba skills that you’ll use again during open water dives required to become a safe diver, as well as experiencing your first breaths underwater!

3. Open Water Dives- the first two of four open water training dives. Two dives are conducted in 1 day. To review your skills and explore! You now get a chance to put to practice what you learnt in the pool and a taste of the adventures that lie ahead that will keep you coming back for more bottom time every chance you get!

Resulting in a limited Scuba Diver certification, particularly if you expect to go scuba diving primarily in the company of a dive guide or if you have limited time to devote to scuba certification or you will only dive a couple of times per year, consider becoming a PADI Scuba Diver.

During the course you will cover material and practice skills related to topics such as:

  • Buoyancy skills including comfortable ascents and descents, and breathing underwater.

  • Staying warm underwater, streamlining your swimming skills and buddy diving techniques.

  • Diving environments and aquatic life you’re likely to encounter.

  • Preventing common problems underwater.
